NOTE: You must indicate your wedding date on your booking and send your wedding certificate via email prior to your arrival to the hotel (valid for 6 months after the wedding date).

REQUIREMENTS FOR A LEGAL MARRIAGE CEREMONY IN JAMAICA

Even though by law the wedding couple only needs to be here 24 hrs in advance, we would advise you to come at least 3 days in advance to meet with the wedding coordinator and go through the final details regarding the wedding. The law requires that the wedding couple are in Jamaica for a minimum of 24 hours prior to the wedding. However, in order to get legally married by a Marriage Officer recognized by the Jamaican Government you must apply for a License ahead of time. Below you will find the list of documents that are required by the Jamaican Government to apply for a License:

Notarized copies of the wedding couple's birth certificates which must include father’s name.
Notarized copies of wedding couple’s official Identifications (Passports)
Notarized copies of divorce decrees or death certificates (if applicable)

These documents must be sent to the Wedding Coordinator at least four (4) weeks prior to the couple's arrival at the hotel (We highly recommend to use a private courier (i.e. FedEx, DHL, or UPS)

Arrangements for Marriage Certificate:

After the ceremony, the couple will receive a copy of the Marriage Register that the Officer will take to the Registrar General in Montego Bay in order to obtain your Marriage Certificate. This process takes between 1 to 3 months and the document will be mailed to you as soon as we receive it from the Registrar’s Office.

If you require a certified copy (there is an extra charge), please advise the wedding coordinator.

You must check with the Jamaican consulate in your country of residence for legal requirements as these can change at any time.
