Marriage Requirements - Dominican Republic

The following is a list of the documentation required by Dominican Law in order to be legally married in the Dominican Republic:

• Birth Certificate of wedding couple or certified copy of Birth certificate. If parents' names are not shown on the certificates, please indicate them separately.
• Notarized Declaration of Single status for the wedding couple. If previously married, submit two copies of the Divorce Decree or Death Certificate. There is a mandatory waiting period for women, 10 months before they are legally allowed to remarry.
• A photocopy of wedding couple's Passport.
• Photocopies of all Witnesses Passports. CAN NOT BE FAMILY MEMBERS!. If necessary, the resort will provide witnesses.
• wedding couple must be in the country 3 business days prior to the wedding. Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements.

Please note: The Dominican Republic is now a member of the La Hague Convention, please have your official documents Apostille* by your country's Secretary of State Office. You can also contact "Vitalcheck.com" to request Apostille* Documents.

All documents must be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate prior to arriving in the Dominican Republic, except for the Passports. The documents should be legalized by the Dominican Consulate no more than 3 months prior to the wedding date. It is the couple's responsibility to have all the documentation ready prior to the wedding.

The Judge is an outside service provided by the Dominican Government. We cannot be held responsible for any delay or alteration.

The Judge will duly register your Wedding Certificate at the Central Civil Board and legalize it with the Foreign Affairs Department of the Dominican Republic. We will then send the Wedding Certificate to the couple via mail which may take up to 15 weeks.

The Civil Wedding is celebrated in Spanish. Your marriage certificate will be sent to you in Spanish, you will then need to have it translated and legalized into English.

No paperwork is required for a symbolic wedding. Normally the wedding planner will officiate. You can however bring your own Minister or pay for the service of one locally.

* When documents need to be recognized as legal in a foreign country, they’re required to go through the Apostille process, also known as authentication and legalization.

Terms & Conditions

Dreams Wedding in Paradise Package

This wedding package is complimentary when you book the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite or higher, for a minimum of 7 nights OR if your wedding party books 5 rooms in any accommodations category for a minimum of 3 nights. This package also applies to renewal of vows ceremony. Please request your wedding package at time of booking.
Please note, restrictions apply when combining the complimentary wedding package with the Groups, Gatherings, and Getaways promotion. See promotion terms and conditions for details.

All weddings, regardless of size, must be booked a minimum of 30 days in advance of the wedding date. Subject to availability and double occupancy only. Prices and package subject to change without notice. This package cannot be combined with the Dreams Eternity Honeymoon Package for both to be received complimentary and the free wedding package cannot be deducted when purchasing other packages. 15% discount on spa treatments cannot be applied to spa packages or combined with any other spa promotion or offer. Once wedding is confirmed it cannot be cancelled within 6 months of the date of the wedding without a fee. For weddings booked within 6 months of the wedding date the wedding cannot be cancelled without the penalty. The cancellation penalty is $100. The complimentary wedding package may not be available during all dates and times at the discretion of the resort.

Dreams of Love Wedding Package

All weddings, regardless of size, must be booked a minimum of 30 days in advance of the wedding date. Subject to availability and double occupancy only. Prices and package subject to change without notice. 15% discount on spa treatments cannot be applied to spa packages or combined with any other spa promotion or offer.
Once wedding is confirmed it cannot be cancelled within 6 months of the date of the wedding without a fee. For weddings booked within 6 months of the wedding date the wedding cannot be cancelled without the penalty. The cancellation penalty is $500. A percentage of wedding guest accommodations may be required to confirm the wedding. The policy is up to the resort’s discretion and should be discussed when saving the date with the wedding coordinator.

2017/2018/2019 - *In the months of August, September and October 2017/2018/2019 the package price will be $2,799 USD. All remaining months of 2017/2018/2019 will be the standard pricing of $3,199
