Welcome to the Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica

The Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica (All Inclusive 24h), is located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica on the edge of the beach of Matapalo. This hotel, fully prepared to provide the best service to its customers, has four swimming pools (one with a wet bar), jacuzzi, gym, sauna and a wellness center “Renova Spa” with different treatments and massages. Everything you need for maximum comfort during your stay.

The quality of the cuisine offered at the different restaurants of the hotel is exceptional thanks to our chefs, who prepare a variety of dishes, from classic to the most exotic. You’ll want to to try each of our menus and thanks to the All Inclusive service, you will be able to enjoy the buffet restaurant or the four different theme restaurants of the hotel.

Being on a privileged environment, the hotel offers a variety of activities on the beautiful beaches such as diving or fishing in the Pacific waters, ecotourism in the volcanic areas, and during the day several programs of entertainment for all ages, whether in family or friends. The hotel has a gym, table tennis, volleyball, tennis court, windsurf, sailing, snorkeling equipment, kayaks and other water activities. If your favorite sport is golf, the Four Seasons Golf Club has fantastic views over the sea.

Guanacaste is less tropical, humid and lush than the rest of the country. Its plains and dry forests sometimes remind African savanna landscapes. Inland you can see the savanna, local cowboys on their horses while driving their flocks, which are authentic figures of popular culture of this destination. From the hotel, you can do several excursions that you can not lose, like the visit of the National Park Rincon de la Vieja, the Safari Park or the capital of Guanacaste: Liberia.

Spring Break Policies: Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any RIU property, at any time during the year. RIU Hotels & Resorts, reserves the right to withhold admission to any Spring Breaker. The hotel reserves the right of admission and may request clients to show passport or official ID to prove full identification. Guests can and will be removed from the property at their own expense in case of any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff. Parties in rooms are not allowed. Type of Ceremonies

Weddings by Riu celebrates three different types of ceremonies: Civil, Symbolic & Renewal of Vows.

Civil Ceremonies: Are performed by a Judge and are legally recognized. Paperwork is required. The newlyweds will receive a legal marriage certificate in Spanish Language.
Important: Civil weddings are legally recognized in the country where the wedding is performed. As each country has specific requirements, We highly recommend you to contact your respective Embassy or Consulate in order to get the complete information regarding the procedure that you'll have to follow in order to legalize your Marriage Certificate in your country. *Riu Hotels and Resorts is not responsible of this legal procedure.
Symbolic & Renewal of Vows Ceremonies: Are Blessing Ceremonies performed by a Non-denominational Minister and are not legally recognized. No paper work or witnesses are required. After the ceremony, wedding couple will receive a “symbolic” marriage certificate.
Important: Riu Hotels & Resorts prides itself on the reliability of our properties which always welcomes cultural diversity, please note that our Riu properties in Costa Rica perform same-sex symbolic weddings.In order to apply for a renewal of vows ceremony is a must to send a photocopy from the legal marriage certificate of your home country.

At Riu Palace Costa Rica you can choose:
- Beach: Maximum capacity 200 persons
- Terrace: Maximum capacity 200 persons
- IMPORTANT: 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM schedules are not available for the terrace use; private events and ceremonies on the 4th floor terrace can be performed only at 5:00 PM, with background music with maximum duration until 10:00 PM. (Subject to change due weather conditions) Please note that events or ceremonies performed on the outdoors during the months of May 1st until December 15th every year; according to Costa Rican National Weather System; there is a high probability of rain, therefore outdoors events (dinner / reception) are not allowed by hotel policy.
