For as many ways there are to propose, there are just as many ways to say “I do” on the island of ST. Lucia. Whether an intimate ceremony for just the couple or for a large group of friends and family; whether it’s the first time, second or even third a romantic vow renewal; St. Lucia’s destination wedding and honeymoon options are as unlimited as your imagination.

According to Alison Theodore, Regional Marketing Manager for the St Lucia Tourist Board in Canada, St. Lucia is a very popular destination for weddings in the Caribbean. “St Lucia has consistently been voted among the most romantic destinations in the world by international travel writers and at the annual World Travel Awards,” says Theodore. “The island just has that romantic appeal and has such a good selection of hotels that there really is something for everyone, whatever type of wedding they want. And we also make it easy. There are no waiting periods, no residency period requirements, so that couples can get married on the day they arrive. It is completely streamlined.”

What’s more, the happy couple are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the ideal location to say “I do”. “St. Lucia offers visitors the freedom of having a wedding just the way they want it,” says Theodore. “Whilst church weddings remain popular in St. Lucia, they can also choose from the base of a gorgeous waterfall, magical rain-forest venue, botanical gardens or beachfront bliss. Or why not combine beauty, heritage and a striking view of one of St. Lucia’s most sought after wedding locations, Pigeon Island – you dream it we make it happen!”

Most St Lucian hotels have dedicated wedding coordinators and also offer packages aimed at making that special day a hassle free, romantic moment to cherish, offering free basic wedding packages when couples are staying for a minimum number of nights or have groups of a certain size.
